Remembering Samuel “Sam” Carter Reynolds (1971–2026)
Samuel “Sam” Carter Reynolds, a devoted father, loyal friend, and respected member of his community, passed away unexpectedly on February 12, 2026, at the age of 54.
Born on July 8, 1971, in Oakwood, Virginia, Sam was known for his determination, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a hand whenever it was needed. Throughout his life, he built a reputation as someone who could be counted on, whether by family, friends, coworkers, or neighbors.
Sam spent over 25 years working as a mechanic, where his skill and dedication earned him the respect of both customers and colleagues. Outside of work, he loved fishing at sunrise, restoring classic cars, and cheering on his favorite football team every Sunday.
Those who knew Sam will remember his booming laugh, his endless collection of stories, and his habit of treating everyone like an old friend. He believed that life's greatest treasures were found in moments spent with the people who mattered most.
He is survived by his daughter, Madison Reynolds; his son, Tyler Reynolds; his mother, Patricia Reynolds; and his brother, David Reynolds. He also leaves behind countless friends whose lives were made brighter by his friendship and generosity.
He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Reynolds.
A celebration of Sam’s life will be held on February 20, 2026, at Oakwood Community Center, where family and friends are invited to gather and share memories.
In honor of Sam’s love for the outdoors, the family encourages attendees to spend time with loved ones and appreciate the simple joys that life offers.
Though his time was cut short, Sam leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, and unwavering loyalty. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
"Some people leave footprints wherever they go. Sam left a path others were proud to follow."
